Bally's Corporation, operator of a casino-horse track in Dover, announced plans for Bally's Las Vegas, a resort destination on the Las Vegas Strip at the former site of the Tropicana.
The project will share a 35-acre site with the new Las Vegas (formerly Oakland) Athletics Major League ballpark. . The project is being submitted to Clark County, with construction targeted to get underway in the first half of 2026.
"Bally's Las Vegas represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to redefine the heart of the Strip," said Soo Kim, chairman of the Bally's board. "With world-class partners like JLL and Marnell, and with the arrival of Major League Baseball, we are not just building an integrated resort. We are creating a landmark destination that unites sports, entertainment, dining and hospitality on a scale only Las Vegas can deliver."
Envisioned as a vibrant hub for international travelers and regional baseball fans alike, Bally's Las Vegas will showcase a curated mix of dining concepts, flagship retail and immersive experiences. The project aims to meet the growing demand for integrated entertainment while positioning Las Vegas as the ultimate stage for professional baseball and large-scale global tourism, a release stated.
JLL, a global real estate services company, will lead retail and dining sourcing efforts for the project.
Bally's, which got its start as a Rhode Island casino company expanded to Delaware and Colorado and now operates casino resorts nationwide. It acquired the Bally's name from Las Vegas-based Caesars and also acquired the Bally's casino in Atlantic City as part of its expansion.
The former Bally's in Las Vegas is now known as The Horseshoe.
Las Vegas is currently going through one of its periodic slumps due to fewer foreign and U.S. visitors, immigration turmoil and a slowing economy. Las Vegas has the largest number of hotel rooms of any U.S. city.
Bally's is also a partner in building a $1 billion casino in Chicago and has encountered problems with construction at the site of a former Chicago Tribune printing plant.
