Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested 44-year-old Gianmarco Skirvin, 44, of Elsmere.
Between May and June, a public utility pump station located on Sears Boulevard in Wilmington reported incidents of theft and vandalism. A hole had been cut in the station’s fence, and sump pumps and radiators were stolen or damaged in apparent attempts to remove material from the property.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit were assigned to this case, and after an investigation, they identified Skirvin as the suspect.
On June 17 officers responded to the 400 block of B & O Lane in Elsmere in an attempt to locate Skirvin. Skirvin was later found hiding inside the building and was taken into custody.
In addition, Skirvin had active warrants from both the State Police and the Elsmere Police Department. He was also charged and arraigned on those outstanding warrants.
Skirvin was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and taken to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $31,500 cash bail.
