Great Wolf Lodge Maryland, an indoor water park resort, this week celebrated one year of family-fun with a birthday cake designed by celebrity chef Duff Goldman.Goldman was also on hand for the opening of Great Wolf and baked a cake for that event.
The quarter of a billion dollar water park and hotel with meeting space is located in Perryville, about 20 miles west of Newark. The property received financial incentives from the State of Maryland.
When it opened, the Great Wolf Lodge was the company’s largest. It was part of the company’s strategy of going beyond resort areas and building properties at or near population centers after expanding into tourist meccas areas like the Pocono Mountains and Williamsburg.
Great Wolf has more than 128,000 square feet of indoor water park space, including two dozen slides and pools. Outside of the indoor water park, Great Wolf Lodge Perryville offers an indoor ropes course, mini-golf, Ten Paw Alley bowling, and an interactive adventure game.
Great Wolf announced a short-term promotion ending on July 17 for stays at the resort for guests booking under the code ONEYEAR. Great Wolf also offers day passes at a cost of $70 per person.
