The charges came after three commercial burglaries in New Castle County over the past month.
Beginning on May 29, troopers were dispatched to a burglary during after-hours at a property owned by Auto Team Delaware, at 3400 Lancaster Pike, outside Wilmington. The preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown male suspect arrived at the property in a dark-colored Ford pickup truck.
Once on the property, the suspect walked into a building under construction, cut the lock on a shipping container, and stole tools.
On June 12, troopers investigated a burglary that occurred during after-hours at a property owned by Farrar Car Wash, at 602 Main Stree near Wilmington.
The preliminary investigation determined that a male arrived on the property in a dark-colored Ford pickup truck. Once on the property, the suspect stole fuel from construction equipment, and stole wires from a building under construction.
On June 16, troopers investigated a burglary that occurred at a site owned by Wawa, located at 2645 Capitol Trail near Newark. The preliminary investigation deermined a male suspect cut a lock on a trailer, and stole tools.
Troop 2 Property Crimes Detectives identified Denney as the suspect in the three burglaries, which saw the theft of $13,000 in equipment. Detectives further discovered Denney was using stolen and/or fictitious license plates on his Ford pickup during the incidents.
On June 22, Denney was taken into custody by troopers on a traffic stop in north Wilmington.
He was taken to Troop 2, where he was charged. and arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11. He was taken to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution lacking a $6,100 secured bond.
