A system glitch led Delmarva Power to report that 105,000 customers were without power for a time on Tuesday.
Delmarva has more than a half a million customers.
The issue was corrected on Tuesday night, according to a Delmarva spokesman.
Eighty-three outages were reported throughout Delmarva's Maryland and Delaware territory.
Tuesday featured breezy conditions with an arctic front and higher winds possibly passing through the area on Wednesday. However, winds were never high enough to trigger downed trees and power lines that lead to outages.
More than 67,000 of the outages were occurring on the Eastern and Upper Shore of Maryland.
Delmarva's territory includes a large portion of Delaware other than areas served by municipal electric utilities and Delaware Electric Cooperative.
