Fire results in $400,000 in damage to Rising Sun, MD auto dealership

Cecil County has seen three commercial building fires in recent weeks with varied causes. Two of the fires were in the Elkton area.

Ourisman, based in the Washington, D.C. area,  recently purchased the Matt Slap Subaru dealership in Newark and moved into northeastern Maryland with the purchase of the Ford franchise.

The fire was brought under control in 40 minutes, but resulted in an estimated $350,000 in damage to the building and another $50,000 to contents, according to the state Fire Marshal's office.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
