Posts on South American burglary gangs hitting northern Delaware, the new Great Wolf Lodge west of Newark and a Delaware company accused of operating a precious metals scam topped the list of most read stories on the Delaware Business Now site during 2023.
The top 10 stories included a look at a failed urban renewal strategy that led to the demise of the once vibrant business and social community on Wilmington’s east side and a My Take analysis column on Wilmington Trust being acquired by M&T under an emergency “take under” due to loans that went south.
Other stories in the top 25 included new airline Avelo cutting flights outside of Florida destinations this winter, Helen’s Sausage House and Del Pez Latin restaurant coming to Newark, and quarterback Joe Flacco joining Ron Jaworski in acquiring Middletown’s Back Creek County Club.
Coming in at 25 was news of a Florida woman becoming the first passenger at Wilmington Airport to be found by the TSA with a loaded gun in her carry-on bag.
