Weather Service issues advisory as blend of heat and humidity brings threat of storms, flash floods

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for northwestern New Castle County and southern Chester County.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop on Tuesday afternoon and evening and  again for Wednesday afternoon and evening.

A line of storms appeared to be moving into the  area late Tuesday afternoon.

Thunderstorms will be capable of producing heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding, as well as damaging wind gusts, the weather office reported.

There is a moderate to  high risk for  dangerous rip currents for the New Jersey shore and Delaware Beaches through Wednesday.
