Golden Waffles has opened a new headquarters and innovation center at 1 Braxton Way. The location is about five miles north of the Delaware state line.
The nearly 18,000-square-foot facility expands the company's capabilities, a release stated.
The company has reported a stronger market for waffles and added education, training, a demonstration kitchen, research, and other components at the headquarters.
"This new HQ is more than just a building; it's a catalyst," said CEO Mike DiBeneditto. "Golden Waffles is growing fast, waffles are booming across every menu category, and we're investing right here in Greater Philadelphia to fuel that momentum."
The company has reported a nationwide waffle renaissance in dining formats, ranging from quick service and juice bars to late-night spots and grab-and-go. One popular brunch menu item is chicken and waffles.
Golden Waffles supplies pancake and waffle mixes, and syrup to 50,000 customer locations in North America and more than 60 countries. The company was known for giving a waffle iron to establishments buying its mixes.
Golden Waffles was founded in 1937 and was owned for about 10 years by Roch Capital, an enterprise owned by the Abessionio family and an outgrowth of the Applied Bank and credit card operation in Delaware and later in the Glen Mills area.
The company was sold in 2023 to Arbor Investments and was later rebranded from Golden Malted to Golden Waffles.
ROCH Capital still owns Applied Bank in Delaware,the Wells Fargo Tower high-rise north of Wilmington, hotels, and other real estate properties.
