The Delaware Restaurant Association, through its nonprofit arm, the Delaware Restaurant Foundation, launched the Hospitality Leadership Advancement Program partnership with Goldey-Beacom College, Pike Creek.
This program was made possible by grant funding from the Delaware Workforce Development Board, and applications for the inaugural Fall 2025 cohort are now open.
Designed for individuals currently working in Delaware’s hospitality industry, the program is focused on advancing women into leadership and management roles, though it welcomes all applicants.
This program was developed in direct response to industry feedback from employers and human resources leaders who identified a gap in training for entry-level and mid-level managers.
Many hospitality workers excel in operatins but lack access to the financial and communication skills required for upper-level leadership roles. The courses in the program —Desktop Applications (Excel), Personal Financial Management, Leadership & Organizational Behavior, and either Group Dynamics or Argumentation & Negotiation—are designed to build the essential skills needed to advance.
“We’re proud to launch this bold and inclusive program with Goldey-Beacom — one that directly responds to our industry’s need for more empowered leaders, said Carrie Lieshman, DRA CEO.” This isn’t just training; it’s a true pathway to advancement, made possible through innovative partnership and the support of the Workforce Development Board.”
“At Goldey-Beacom College, we are deeply committed to providing accessible, career-relevant education that meets learners where they are,” Colleen Perry Keith, president “This partnership with the Delaware Restaurant Association represents everything higher education should be — responsive, inclusive, and impactful. We’re honored to support hospitality professionals in developing the leadership skills that will help them thrive and advance in their careers.”
The Fall 2025 cohort kicks off with a virtual orientation on August 12 and classes beginning August 25.
Program participants are invited, with complimentary access, to attend the annual Women of Hospitality Conference, hosted by the Delaware Restaurant Association in November, 2025
