LL Flooring is planning to shut down after failing to find a buyer.
LL Flooring has four stores in all three of Delaware's counties.
A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission reported that LL, based near Richmond, VA, has hired a company to handle the liquidation of inventory at all stores. The firm had earlier been charged with selling off inventory at 94 stores.
With the recent announcement, about 300 stores will close
The company had earlier filed for Chapter 11 in Delaware, a state popular with mid-sized companies seeking bankruptcy protection.
LL also agreed to sell its Virginia distribution center for more than $100 million.
The company previously blamed a slowdown in home remodeling for its problems.
LL Flooring was previously known as Lumber Liquidators, getting its start in New England and later moving its headquarters to Virginia.
In 2019, Lumber Liquidators paid a $33 million criminal penalty over charges that it misled investors on the seriousness of problems with flooring made in China that came with high levels of formaldehyde, a carcinogen.
Problems with the flooring led to the company being featured on the CBS show 60 Minutes.
