Dunkin promotion leads to $27,265 Food Bank donation
Food Bank of Delaware received a $27,265 donation from Dunkin’ of Greater Philadelphia to help fight hunger throughout the region.
This donation comes from Dunkin’ of Greater Philadelphia’s 14th annual Roast Hunger program, which began on Thanksgiving Day through December 15.
For every large hot coffee purchased by Dunkin’ Rewards members, Dunkin’s Philadelphia-area franchisees donated $1 to the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation to help support regional food bank.
All funds raised by the Philadelphia-area franchisees through the Roast Hunger program stayed in the region.
Local Dunkin’ franchisees and team members also volunteer on-site at Food Bank of Delaware packing food boxes.
This year, Dunkin’ raised over $300,000 through its annual “Roast Hunger” program. Since 2011, Dunkin’ has raised more than $3 million through its program fundraising efforts.

GOLO, a Newark-based health and wellness solutions company, and Project Fit America (PFA), a national non-profit that creates and administers fitness in education programming for elementary and middle schools, announced that Joseph M. McVey Elementary School in Newark has been selected to receive a grant to support its physical education curriculum.
GOLO has committed $10,000 to support the fitness program designed by Project Fit America, which is also intended to help children build social, character, and leadership skills.
"We are thrilled to partner with Project Fit America to introduce this exceptional physical education program to Joseph M. McVey Elementary School. This initiative promises to enrich the lives of both teachers and students, fostering a healthier and more active school community," said Jennifer Brooks, president and co-founder of GOLO.
The academic focus of the grant program is to create "physically educated" children and to empower them to take personal responsibility for their health with enthusiasm. The program includes fitness equipment and a dynamic supplemental physical education curriculum with games, activities, and challenges for children.
