The price at the pump in Delaware fell two cents during the past week, AAA reported.
The average price for regular was $3.07 a gallon, below the national figure of $3.16 a gallon.
AAA reported a growing gap in gas prices among the state's three counties with the price of regular in New Castle County a few pennies below $3 a gallon, with Kent and Sussex more than 15 cents a gallon higher.
Bargains were available in northern Delaware, with several stations charging $2.85 a gallon or less.
AAA reported fuel prices so far in 2025 haven’t had any major spikes or dips compared to other recent years. Motorists have seen brief-run-ups due to fears of a wider war in the Middle East.
According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand increased from 8.48 million barrels a day last week to 8.96. Total domestic gasoline supply increased from 232.9 million barrels to 231.1. Gasoline production increased last week, averaging 9.4 million barrels a day.
As of Friday morning, crude oil was trading at $66.38 a barrel.
The EIA reports crude oil inventories decreased by 3.2 million barrels from the previous week. At 419 million barrels, U.S. crude oil inventories are about 9% below the five-year average for this time of year.
The national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station stayed the same this past week at 36 cents.
AAA reported Delaware's public electric vehicle charging price has gone up a few cents per kilowatt hour to 32 cents, the sixth lowest figure in the nation. The First State had earlier posted the fourth lowest rate
