Avelo is converting some twice-weekly flights to three and four times a week status during and after the holidays.
That's according to the Wilmington Airport flight schedule, which now runs until April 21, 2026. A third jet will be based at Wilmington Airport (ILG) as the airline winds down West Coast operations and moves three Boeing 737s east.
Wilmington Airport officials have been hoping for a third jet as work continues on an expanded and renovated terminal.
“It’s time to start planning spring travel, and we are excited to extend Avelo’s ILG flight schedule through April 2026," said, Trevor Yearly, head of commercial at Avelo. "With Avelo’s everyday low fares and industry-leading reliability, it’s the perfect time for travelers to get a head start on booking their spring vacations or weekend getaways to 14 popular destinations. Avelo offers somewhere for everyone – from award-winning beaches to outdoor adventure destinations and cultural hotspots."
No new cities were added to the Delaware schedule, and the airline's site shows no flights beyond early February from Wilmington to Raleigh-Durham. It's the second time that Avelo has attempted to fly to the Carolina destination from Wilmington.

As previously announced, Avelo will add Wilmington flights around the holidays. The airline is also expanding to three- and four-times-a-week service to San Juan, Tampa, and Fort Myers during the winter travel period. San Juan has seen growth in passenger traffic despite competing service at Philadelphia International Airport.
Orlando, Avelo's busiest market from Wilmington, will see its usual four weekly flights expand to five during the spring break period. Avelo has carved out a solid niche with its Wilmington service to the land of Disney and Universal/Comcast despite low-fare competitor Frontier offering two daily flights from Philly.
Service to Myrtle Beach, SC, resumes in February, earlier than in previous years, with flights to Wilmington, NC, returning in June. Sarasota flights are paused until November and at various periods in early 2025.
Avelo made news last week when it signed an order with Embraer to purchase 50 of its largest jets with an option for 50 more. The jets seat up to 140 people and do not have the dreaded middle seat.
