The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Remediation Section is seeking public comment on a proposal to clean-up the Orange Street Parking Lot at 711 N Orange Street, 706-708 N Tatnall Street, and 215-219 W 7th Street in Wilmington,
The site is part of an urban block in downtown Wilmington that has supported mixed commercial and residential uses. The Orange Street Parking Lot Site consists of approximately 0.92 acres and includes seven tax parcels currently improved with asphalt-paved parking areas managed by Colonial Parking.
Past uses of the site have included a carriage works, plumbing supply, and print shop.
The remediation action is not expected to involve a residential project. Such projects have accounted for most of the recent construction in downtown Wilmington.
Details of the Proposed Plan of Remedial Action are available online at den.dnrec.delaware.gov.
