State Chamber issues agenda and blue book in effort to improve Delaware's competitiveness

The chamber will see a General Assembly with more progressives holding seats.

Priorities include: 

• Workforce development, training and education.
• Environment, energy and sustainability
• Healthcare
• Economic development
• Fiscal policy.

According to the State Chamber, Delaware’s economic standing—while strong in some area has  room for improvement.

Based onrecent rankings published in CNBC’s Top States for Business, Delaware faces challenges in key areas like cost of doing business (44th), education (45th), and business friendliness (46th). Notably, the state’s overall competitiveness ranking dropped from 18^th in 2023 to 34^th in 2024.

The chamber is also releasing a  2025 Competitiveness Bluebook, a new publication featuring national, unbiased data, that shows readers where Delaware stands in comparison to other states and identifies areas where improvement is needed.

 "Our new Competitiveness Bluebook highlights both the opportunities and challenges facing Delaware," said Michael J. Quaranta, president of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce. “Improvement is needed in critical areas, and we’re committed to working with policymakers, businesses, and community stakeholders to address these issues to drive meaningful progress for the First State.”
