The Delaware Emergency Management Agency announced the activation of the Delaware National Guard to assist with the impact of coastal flooding and highwinds.
Street flooding was widespread as the coastal law hit portions of Delaware on Sunday.
DEMA has been working with state and local officials since Friday and is pre-positioning Guard members and equipment for deployment as needed.
Earlier on Sunday mayor of Bowers issued a voluntary evacuation order for residents of the Town of Bowers east of Whitwells Delight Road due to the coastal flooding threat.
Bowers in Kent County on Delaware Bay has about 300 residents.
An emergency alert message has been sent to residents in the area via the public alerts system.
A reception center has been opened at Magnolia Fire House. Residents evacuating can report to this location for shelter until further notice.

New Castle County Emergency Management officials reported that high tide will result in flooding in low-lying area roads.
A low pressure system is resulting in high winds to high waves and coastal flooding along the coast, according to the National Weather Service.
Residents in all three of the state's counties are being advised not to drive into roadways with high water. As little as a foot of moving water can lead to small cars being swept away with 18 to 24 inches doing the same for SUVs and pickup trucks.
New Jersey earlier issued an Emergency order as the storm approached.
