Middletown Police Department arrested Lorenzo Velazquez, 38, of Warwick, MD, in connection with burglaries and attempted burglaries targeting businesses.
Police reported the following
• Dec. 16 - Officers were dispatched to several burglaries along East and West Main Street. One business was broken into, causing damage to cash registers and resulting in the theft of cash.
• Dec. 17: While patrolling the Cricklewood Shopping Center during the early morning hours, officers heard a loud noise and spotted a suspect fleeing the area. Velazquez was identified as the suspect, and arrest warrants were obtained.
Later on the 17th, Velazquez was apprehended in the West Main St. Wawa parking lot without incident. He was arraigned on these charges and taken to Howard Young Correctional Facility on a $1,600 secured bond.
